I never thought I would succumb to the Denim on Denim trend or even try to make it work. Everyone makes it look so easy, it definitely isn’t. Denim on denim can easily look overdone or make you look more overdressed than you intended on.
I went into the Stradivarius store one day with the intention of just window shopping. Just that alone. I looked around, everything looked good but expensive, well- relatively expensive. I went onto the sales rack- sales table, to be more precise. It was a huge table with so many sales items dumped on there for the customers picking. With the knowledge of how bend-down-select works (In Nigeria), this wasn’t going to be hard at all.
I needed jeans so badly. I needed at least 3 pairs of jeans to satisfy and prepare me for the winter period. So of course I dug in… Safe to say I bought these two items. Only these two and they were 2000 HUF ($7) each. Yes, it was a steal. Pre-summer-Eme wouldn’t have even looked at these pants twice but look at me now, I’m trying new styles, opening myself up to new things. I no longer want to stay safe.
And because I had already started the Denim on Denim series anyway, it was an easy decision to wear them together, I mean that was one other reason that got me motivated to get these items. I wanted to keep it monochrome with a touch of gold, the jewelry of course, so I paired it with my blue ride or die heels. I definitely could’ve done better with sandal heels but I don’t own any pair. I need to revamp my shoe closet thinking about it now.
So here it is, my Denim On Denim look 1. I hope you love it, tell me what you think below and if you’d wear this?
